That 50,000+ job figure gets thrown around as much as almost any other lie that is spread by the wind industry.
It’s kind of remarkable that no matter the size or the population of any country, wind industry reps say that 50,000+ jobs will be created by green energy. That figure is used in the States (pop. 311 million), in Canada (pop. 34 million) AND in Ireland (pop. 4 million).
What??!!! Ireland??
Just last week, the headlines broadcast the news that 50,000 jobs have been created in India thanks to green energy.
Amazing! Welcome to the fold India! You’re joining an elite privileged group of countries around the world who have had 50,000 jobs created thanks to green energy. The problem is, no one ever sees these mysterious jobs, but the renewables industry sure loves that number.
When will this house of deception and outright lies be brought down? Any other industry that lies and manipulates the public the way the wind industry does, would have been brought down by consumer groups, environmental groups, savvy politicians and lawyers a LONG LONG time ago. But as usual with anything labelled ‘green’, wind gets a pass.

Where exactly does it say that these jobs are created? Is it the same 50,000 jobs? ie worldwide. Everything mentioned by the green energy industry has to checked for the exact meaning.
It is possible that 50,000 jobs have been created worldwide - many of these could be involved in picking up dead birds and quietly disposing them before they are 'officially discovered'.

Bob Delany, who is the parliamentary assistant to Energy minister Bob Chiarelli stated that 30,000 jobs had been created during the past 6 or 7 years in Ontario. Of course the media doesn't ask for substantiation, because that would be now termed investigative journalism and we can't do that. For that reason, it's obvious why politicians can lie with impunity.

Here's a new one, posted on in a London Free Press discussion by a well known wind energy advocate:
"Green collar jobs in Canada now number 700,000. Most created while the economy was in recession. It is the new economy."
That's quite a jump in jobs, isn't it?

WOW!!!! Considering Ontario is supposedly the Canadian leading province for green energy I have to wonder where these jobs are!! I just wish for ONCE these liars would be forced to quote their source and provide proof to backup their claims!
Thanks myview and welcome to the forum!

I think they also look at the membership of CanWEA and figure that all the employees of all those companies are now considered "green" jobs. Interestingly enough the roster includes a bunch of lawyer firms, consultants and fossil fuel companies that see an easy buck to be fleeced from an ignorant Ontario electorate.
